BelowNew — landing page micro-audit
Format of the $19 BTC micro-audit: 3 prioritized fixes, before → after, plus 1 metric to watch.
What the page says today
“Apple products, new, refurbished and used. One search.”
“A good price, or just a low one? See where it sits.”
“You buy from the store, not from us.”
Fix 1 (highest impact) — Hero: lead with the comparison job
Before: H1 stacks category words; the “Google Flights for Apple” value is only implied.
After:
H1: “Compare new, refurbished and used Apple — side by side.” Subline: “Same config, store condition and returns on every listing. You buy from the store, not from us.”
Fix 2 — CTA: “Compare” is weak without a first product
Before: Primary CTA is a bare “Compare”; shoppers don’t know what happens next.
After:
Primary: “Compare iPhone 17 Pro prices”; secondary chips for MacBook / iPad.
Fix 3 — Trust: marketplace vs store is easy to miss
Before: “You buy from the store, not from us” sits in a paragraph; first-time visitors may think BelowNew is the seller.
After:
Hero badge: “We don’t sell devices — we rank store listings”.
Metric hypothesis
If Fix 1 + 2 ship, watch product-page opens and outbound clicks to stores from the hero for 2 weeks against the current page; hypothesis only, no data from BelowNew.
