Tally — landing page micro-audit
Format of the $19 BTC micro-audit: 3 prioritized fixes, before → after, plus 1 metric to watch.
Fix 1 (highest impact) — Hero: lead with the differentiator, not a generic claim
Before:
“The simplest way to create forms” / “Say goodbye to boring forms. Meet Tally — the free, intuitive form builder you’ve been looking for.”
Why: “simplest” is claimed by most form builders. Tally’s strongest, checkable difference is buried in section 2: “Unlimited forms and submissions for free.”
After:
“Unlimited forms and submissions. Free.” / “Type your questions like a doc — no code, no submission caps, no signup to try.”
Fix 2 — CTA: one primary label, with the risk-reducer next to it
Before: buttons read “Create a free form”, “Create form”, “Get started” and “Sign up”; the reassurance “No signup required” sits apart from them.
After: use one label everywhere — “Create a free form — no signup” — and keep “Get started” only for the guide link.
Fix 3 — Offer: answer “what’s the catch?” above the fold
Before: the limit appears mid-page — “as long as you stay within our fair usage guidelines” — and the FAQ is the first place paid plans are explained.
After (one line under the hero CTA):
“Free plan has no form or response limits (fair use). Pay only for team and branding extras.”
Check the exact paid-plan wording against the pricing page before shipping.
Metric hypothesis
If Fix 1 + 2 ship, hero CTA click-through (visits → form editor opened) should rise, because the visitor sees the concrete differentiator and the “no signup” cue at the decision point. Measure for 2 weeks against the current hero; hypothesis only, no data from Tally.
