SaaS landing page not converting? 7 things to check first
Visitors arrive, look, and leave without signing up. Before you redesign, rule out the boring causes, then check the copy problems that most often cost signups. If you want an outside read with fixes ready to paste, the $19 micro-audit does that within 24h — and tells you if the problem isn't the copy.
First: is it really "not converting"?
There's no universal good rate. Unbounce's 2024 Conversion Benchmark Report puts the median landing page conversion rate across all industries at 6.6%, with industry medians ranging from 3.8% to 12.3%. Use that as a rough sense of scale, not a target: what counts as a conversion (email, trial, paid plan) and where the traffic comes from change the number a lot. Your own trend over time is the better yardstick.
Then rule out the non-copy causes, because no rewrite fixes them:
- Wrong traffic. Visitors from a broad ad or an unrelated post may never have been buyers.
- Broken path. Submit your own form on a phone. Check the button works and the next screen loads.
- Too few visits to judge. A handful of visitors and zero signups tells you little either way.
Why copy matters more than it looks
People don't read your page, they scan it. Nielsen Norman Group estimates that on the average web page, users have time to read at most 28% of the words during an average visit; 20% is more likely. Their eyetracking work on scanning patterns, including the F-shaped pattern, shows the same thing: the few words people do read — headline, subheads, button, first lines — carry the page.
7 copy problems that cost signups
- The headline names a category, not an outcome. "All-in-one workspace" vs what the buyer gets done.
- It's unclear who it's for. If the reader can't see themselves, they leave.
- The button is vague. "Get started" or "Submit" instead of saying what happens next.
- Price or commitment is hidden. Not knowing if it's free, a trial or paid creates doubt.
- Proof is missing or buried. No screenshot, demo or named user near the top.
- The main objection goes unanswered near the button: setup time, data, switching cost, cancelling.
- Too many competing calls to action. Demo, trial, newsletter and docs all fighting for the same click.

What the $19 audit does — and doesn't
We read your live page and pick the 3 gaps most likely to cost you signups. You get 3 before → after rewrites (hero, CTA, offer or proof), each with a one-line reason and a metric hypothesis, ready to paste, within 24h of 1 BTC confirmation. No call and no account. See an example deliverable (excerpt from a public sample) or browse all public samples.
It doesn't run A/B tests, look at your analytics or fix traffic, product or technical problems. If one of those looks like the real cause, we say so instead of selling you rewrites. For deeper work see audit vs CRO agency or copywriter alternative.
You get a BTC invoice page with address, amount, a QR code and an open-in-wallet link. Work starts once payment is seen. Not sure yet? Ask for 1 free observation on /audit.
FAQ
Why is my SaaS landing page not converting?
The usual suspects are a headline that names a category instead of an outcome, a vague button, proof that is missing or buried, an unanswered objection near the button, or traffic that doesn't match the page. Check the traffic first: if visitors aren't your buyers, copy changes won't fix it.
What is a good landing page conversion rate?
There is no single number. Unbounce's 2024 Conversion Benchmark Report puts the median across all industries at 6.6%, with industry medians ranging from 3.8% to 12.3%. Your own rate depends on traffic source, offer and what counts as a conversion, so compare against your own past numbers first.
Can a $19 audit fix a page that isn't converting?
It can fix copy problems: we pick the 3 gaps most likely to cost you signups and rewrite them so you can paste the fix. It can't fix wrong traffic, a product people don't want, or a broken form. If we think the problem is one of those, we say so.
Do you need my analytics?
No. The audit reads your live public page. If you share where your traffic comes from in the email field or by writing to [email protected], we take it into account.
What do I receive for $19?
3 before and after rewrites for the highest-impact spots on your page (hero, CTA, offer or proof), each with a one-line reason and a metric hypothesis, ready to paste, within 24h of 1 BTC confirmation. No call and no account.
