Landing page copywriter alternative: when you need a copywriter, and when 3 fixes for $19 is enough

Your landing page isn't converting and you're wondering whether to hire a copywriter. Sometimes that's exactly right. Sometimes the page is mostly fine and needs three sharper lines, not a rewrite. This page lays out what a copywriter typically costs (with the sources), when hiring one is the better call, and when a $19 audit of your live page is enough — or a cheaper first step before you hire.

What a landing page copywriter costs: published figures

We didn't make these numbers up and we don't set them. They come from three public sources, read on 22 October 2026. Two are copywriters' own published pricing guides, so treat them as one side of the market; the third is a price aggregator that explains its method.

SourceWhat it says about one landing page
busyless — Copywriting rates (prices read 12 Oct 2026)$10 to $10,000 per landing page of 500 to 800 words across 78 published prices. Middle prices by route: freelance marketplace $110, independent specialist $1,375. The spec priced includes a briefing call, research into the product and its buyers, a draft and two rounds of revisions.
Rob Palmer — Copywriting Rates 2026 (a copywriter's guide)Landing page: $1,000–$5,000, timeline 1–2 weeks; key factors listed as offer type, traffic source and testing plan.
Kael Tripton — Copywriting Services: What US Businesses Pay (a copywriter's guide)Landing page: $1,500 to $7,500 for a single page; full SaaS landing page rewrites including research and 2 to 3 revision rounds commonly $3,500 to $5,000.

Ranges are the sources' own and may have changed since. They describe a full page written with research and revisions — a different job from a 3-fix audit, which is why the price is so different.

When hiring a copywriter is the better choice

  1. You don't have a page yet, or you're changing what you sell. New positioning needs someone to write the whole page from the ground up. An audit of the old page won't get you there.
  2. You need research you don't have. Customer interviews, review mining and message testing are what good copywriters bring. If you don't know why people buy, three line edits won't fix that.
  3. The page carries meaningful paid traffic. If small conversion gains pay back a few thousand dollars quickly, a full rewrite with a testing plan is worth the spend.
  4. You want someone to own copy over time. Site pages, emails and ads in one voice, with revisions as the product changes, is a relationship, not a one-off fix.

When a $19 audit is enough — or the right first step

  1. The page exists and mostly works. It explains the product, but the headline is vague, the button is generic or the proof is buried. That's three lines, not a rewrite.
  2. You want an outside read before spending more. Get a second opinion today, then decide whether a full rewrite is worth it.
  3. You want a sharper brief for a copywriter. The 3 fixes quote your current copy and say why each change matters — a concrete starting point if you hire someone later.
  4. Budget is tight. Early-stage founders often can't justify a full page project yet. Ship 3 fixes now and revisit when traffic grows.

If the audit shows the problem isn't the copy — the offer, the audience or the traffic — we say so, and that's often the most useful thing to learn before hiring anyone. An optional +$40 rewrite of the hero and primary CTA is available after the audit; anything bigger is a copywriter's job.

FAQ

Is a $19 audit a replacement for a copywriter?

Not for every job. It gives 3 before and after fixes on a page you already have. If you need a new page written from scratch, customer research or interviews, or someone to own your copy over time, a copywriter is the better hire.

How much does a landing page copywriter cost?

Published figures vary widely. A price aggregator that read 78 public prices on 12 October 2026 found $10 to $10,000 for one 500 to 800 word landing page, and copywriters' own published guides put one landing page at $1,000 to $5,000 or $1,500 to $7,500. Sources are linked on this page; check them for the details behind each range.

Can I use the audit to brief a copywriter later?

Yes. The 3 fixes quote your current copy and say why each change matters, which is a useful starting brief if you decide to hire someone for a full rewrite.

What do I receive for $19?

3 before and after rewrites for the highest-impact spots on your live page (hero, CTA, offer or proof), each with a one-line reason, ready to paste, within 24h of payment confirmation. An optional +$40 rewrite of the hero and primary CTA is available after the audit.

How do I pay?

Paste your URL, press Pay $19 in BTC and the invoice opens with the address, the amount, a QR code and an open-in-wallet link. Work starts once the payment is seen. No account and no call.
